ORIGIN: Found in Sulawesi in dense riverine forests in humus on the banks of steep sided streams at elevations around 1050 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Large sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with inconspicuous, swollen, cylindrical pseudobulbs enveloped by leaf bases and carrying 3 to 7, plicate, horizontal, broadly lanceolate, acute to acuminate, green to dark green with numerous small cream spots, margins erose, gradually narrowing below into the terete, v-channeled petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on a lateral, robust, erect, peduncle extremely dark green almost black, 40 [100 cm] long, dark hairy, rachis to 24 [60 cm] long, extending slowly, overall to 64 [160 cm] long, successivly 20 to 30, 40 flowered inflorescence with 4 bracts and persistent, decurved, ovate, acuminate, dark green with external hairs floral bracts.
