ORIGIN: Found in Sulawesi [Celebes] in undisturbed montane forests on the outer branches of trees and shrubs at elevations of 1900 to 2400 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with close set, gray green, rough textured, fat, ovoid pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, thin, green sometimes suffused with purple, elliptic, slightly plicate, 3 nerved, obtuse to pointed, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring through summer on a terminal, erect, 18 to 36 [45 to 90 cm] long, rachis flattened, fractiflex and covered with fertile, green, deciduous, distichous, imbricating, longitudinally folded bracts, 6 to 12 flowered, racemose inflorescence arising on a newly emerging growth with a single successive not wide opening, drooping flower.
