ORIGIN: Found in Costa Rica and Panama in cloud forests at elevations of 2300 to 2800 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small to medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with a cane-like, flexuous, laterally compressed towards the apex, somewhat terete at the base stems producing several short branches from the middle internodes and these in turn produce short branches from the subapical internode and carrying 4 to 10, all along the main stem, 1 to 5 on the short flowering branches, elliptic-lanceolate, unequally bilobed apically, dorsally carinate, subcoriaceous, rugose, margin entire leaves that blooms in the early spring through earlier fall on a terminal, racemose, distichous, arching, nutant, smooth, shorter, zigzag, laterally compressed, lax, 3 to 10 flowered inflorescence arising on a mature stem, with as long to longer than the ovary, deltoid, ovate, obtuse, conduplicate floral bracts and carrying distichous, simultaneous, slightly metallic scentedyellowish green becoming brown with age flowers.
