ORIGIN: Found in the province of Cusco Peru in high elevation cloud forests at elevations around 3050 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cold growing terrestrial with simple, cane-like, basally terete laterallly compressed above erect straight stem carrying 3 to 4, erect-spreading, alternate, articulate, coriacaeous, unequal in size, basal one smaller, elliptic, sub-obtuse, margin entire leavs that blooms in the spring on a terminal, arising through a tubular, narrow, somewhat ancipitous spathe, racemose, erect, peduncle [3.5 mm] long, thin, laterally compressed, [6 to 7.5 cm] long, overall, laxly, simultaneously few to several flowered inflorescence with prominent, shorter than the ovary, narrowly triangulat, acuminate, amplexicaul floral bracts and carrying resupinate, fleshy, creamy green flowers with the tepals dorsally tinged with brown.
