ORIGIN: Found in Antioquia Department of Colombia on the Cordillera occidental at elevations of 2900 to 3000 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Giantsized, cold growing, monopodial terrestrial with branching when mature, cane-like, terete, erect, straight stems carrying numerous on the main stem, 5 to 8 on the branches, articulate, alternate, suberect, cariaceous, lanceolate, apex rounded, minutely apiculate, margin entire leaves that blooms in the later summer on a terminal, erect, to [14 cm] long on the primary stem, [5 to 10 cm] long on the branches, racemose, erect to arching, occurring only once, peduncle to [7 mm] long, terete, straight, rachis straight, 4.3 to 13.3 cm] long, in a heliocoid fashion, successivvely to 11 flowered inflorescence with prominent slightly longer than the ovary, gradually smaller above, narrowly ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, amplexicaul floral bracts and carrying non-resupinate, very fleshy, pale yellow to green flowers.
