ORIGIN: Found in Minas Gerais, Alagoas, Sergipe and Pernambuco states of Brazil and Surinam as a medium sized, hot to warm growing lithophyte or epiphyte near the coast on low bushes at elevations around 280 to 900 meters on rock outcroppings or an epiphyte low on small Velozia bushes along rivers and streams with roots going into sand.

DESCRIPTION: Found in Minas Gerais, Alagoas, Sergipe and Pernambuco states of Brazil and Surinam as a medium sized, hot to warm growing lithophyte or epiphyte near the coast on low bushes at elevations around 280 to 900 meters on rock outcroppings or an epiphyte low on small Velozia bushes along rivers and streams with roots going into sand with conic, elongate pseudobulbs enveloped basally by evanescent sheaths and carries 2, apical, coriaceous, smooth, oblong-lanceolate, acute, cymbidiform leaves and blooms in the spring and again in the fall in Brazil on an erect, terminal, 12 to 16 [30 to 40 cm] long, racemose inflorescence with lanceolate, stem clasping bracts and carrying simultaneously opening flowers with no discernable scent.
