ORIGIN: Found in the department of Velle de Cauca Colombia on the eastern slope of the Cordillera Occidental at elevations around 1950 to 2000 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Large sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with cane-like, simple, terete, thin, straight stem carrying 11 to 12, held in the apical 2/3's of the stem alternate, articulate, eret spreading, unequal in size, basally smaller, narrowly oblong-lanceolate, acuminate, subcoriaceous, , margin entire leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, without a spathe, racemose, erect, occurring only once, peduncle laterally compressed, thin, straight, enveloped by 2 tubular, acuminate bracts, lax, successively several, 23 to 27 flowered inflorescence with shorter than the ovary, narrowly triangular, acuminate, amplexicaul floral bracts and carrying resupinate flowers with the sepals dorsally light green, ventrally pale violet, the lip white and the disc lilac.
