ORIGIN: Found in Puno, Cusco and Amazonas Peru in high rainforests on the eastern lower slope of the Andes at elevations of 180 to 1000 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with simple, cane-like, terete, suberect to spreading, straight stems carrying 5 to 9 in the apical 2/3's of the stem, alternate, articulate, narrowly elliptic, short acuminate, spreading, coriaceous, dark green, ventrally tinged purple, margin entire leaves that blooms in the fall, winter through mid spring on a terminal, without a spathe, racemose, arching-nutant, peduncle to 6 [15 cm] long, thin, laterally compressed, straight, with 7 tubular bracts, rachis to 3.6 [9 cm] long, thin, laterally compressed, slightly flexuous, to 9.6 [24 cm] long overall, laxly, successively 2, 12 to 17 flowered with much shorter than the ovary, triangular, acuminate, amplexicaul floral bracts and carrying resupinate, sepals and petals copper green, column green basally, apically lavender, lip hyaline white, the calli and ribs lavender, and surrounded by a darker lavender ring.
