ORIGIN: Found in the border area between Ecuador and Peru on the ranges west of the Cordillera Occidental of the Andes at elevations of 2700 to 3150 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with canelike, terete, forming long chains, newly arising from the intermediate internode of the previous stem carrying 2 to 3, aggregate towards the apexx, of the stem, unequal, basal leaf much smaller than those above, rotund to elliptic-oblong, bilobed, subcoriaceous, margin entire, somewhat revolute leaves that blooms in the later spring to summer on a termional, arising through 2, conduplicate, obovate, rounded, emarginate spathes, occurring only once, racemose, short, erect, peduncle completely enveloped by the spathes, simultaneously 2 to 4 flowered inflorescence with much shorter than the ovary, narrowly triangular, acuminate floral bracts and carrying non-resupinate, greenish yellow, brownish red or tomato red flowers.
