ORIGIN: Found in Borneo, Malysia and Sumatra in riverine, hill, lower and ridge, montane forests at elevations of 200 to 2400 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Large sized, hot to cold growing epiphyte with close set, cylindrical, elongate pseudobulbs enveloped almost completely by, dark reddish brown, brown speckled, triangular-ovate, acute sheaths and carrying 2 to 6 apical, coriaceous, 6 to 8 nerved, medium green above, dull grey-green below, oblong-elliptic, acute to acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the cuneate, conduplicate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on a sessile, arching, many flowered, to 5 [to 12 cm] long, racemose inflorescence arising from just below the leaves and with ovate, acute floral bracts.
