DESCRIPTION: Found at elevations of 100-1500 meters, this miniature sized, caespitose, hot to cool growing epiphytic species comes from Venezuela, Guyana, Brazil, Ecuador and Peru in wet montane forests and in coffee plantations with small, cylindric, complanate pseudobulbs enveloped by a series of sheaths with the uppermost leaf bearing and carrying a single, apical, elliptic-oblong, acute, conduplicate at the base leaf that blooms in the spring on a pendant, 4 1/4 [11 cm] long, densly many flowered, racemose inflorescence with 3 ovate acuminate bracts and the lanceolate, acuminate, half the length of the ovaries floral bracts and carrying many flowers held in a cylindrical fashion well below the leaves.
