(albopurpurea x brysiana)
Cross:
(Myrmecophila albopurpurea × Myrmecophila brysiana)
Description: A small but floriferous blooming orchid with many spikes from mature plants. Blooms in April-May-June - bright orange flowers with purple tipped & veined lip and 10 to 30 blooms per spike.
Culture: Mine came mounted on a cedar shingle in 2011. I hung it under a ligustrum tree on a wooden pergola swing in 2015 to which it permanently attached itself. It now grows from the ground up the entire side of the pergola swing to above the top and is two feet by six feet in size with over 200 bulbs. It is fertilized and watered twice a week during spring through fall and once a week November - March. It gets about 4000 foot candles of morning light. It sported 19 blooming spikes in 2024.
