Laelia Dayana Coerulea (Cattleya Bicalhoi Coerulea) plant grown by Riccardo Michieletto.
Description: Compact epiphite bright green coloured single leaf.
Flowering season: August thru september, produces 1 single flower each pseudobulb about 5-6 cm wide.
Flowers are mainly white with 5 petals with light purple shading (coerulea), lip is short and closed with a solid dark purple on the opening right and left side, center part is white striped purple.
The column cap has a single purple dot on the tip.
Culture: Mounted with sphagnum moss.
Grows all year, light rest during late winter around february-march.
After flowering (october to february) develops new roots and (non flowering) bulbs, the flowering ones growns starting from april from adult branches, buds comes out directly without sheat as the new vegetation opens the leaf.
Loves warm and humid temperatures constant ventilation, during summer grows very fast, frequent watering, let dry well before next.
Fertilization with balanced staring from spring. Fertilization during winter could burn the roots.
In winter can well tolerate low temperatures around 12-13° maybe less, keep it almost dry, water once a week when dry.
