"A monotypic miniature, slender conical 1 1/2" pseudobulbs topped with a pair of green 4" leaves which will turn red in very bright light, 1 or 2 arching 6" spikes emerge from the new growths, 4 to 8 blooms arrange themselves beautifully on each spike, spectacular 1 1/2" flowers are soft rose to rich wine red with a brilliant yellow four-lobed lip, this early spring bloomer quickly forms specimen plants.

Culture: Spring Blooming. Bright; 2500-3500 Footcandles (very bright indirect light)[mine is in the upper part of a bathroom window that receives brightish indirect light]. Intermediate to Cool; 52°F min. to 80°F max [but my house is 67-73 degrees]. I have a humidifier nearby and there is also a vent from the central ac/heat a couple feet away from the orchids, but not pointing at them. Moist; 3-5 waterings per week (let dry lightly between waterings)
