Lady Bug or dangerous bug

I found this on the flower of my Brassia Up The Water Spout 'Long Legs' this morning. At first I thought it might be a young lady bug that had not become matuer enough to have spots. But after looking at the photo more closely, I'm beginning to think it is not a lady bug. I took off for a doctor's appointment and when I came back, it was gone. Does anyone recognize it? Should I be worried about it?

I must not have been having a good morning that day. Should have been mature, no pic. Tossed the good pic and kept the blurry one, then didn't post any pic. Let's try it again.

    When I see bugs I am unsure about I think of the movie ( Aliens ) quote, "Nuke the entire site from orbit--it's the only way to be sure"

    It looks like a weevil every time I look at.

    Ok, just ran into an article that stated beetles have mandibles for chewing and bugs have proboscis for sucking. It just might be sucking on plant juices and possibly not harmless! Do a thorough inspection of plants! If too large a collection for that I would treat for general bug infestation. It may be laying eggs.

    Is it possible that the beetle in pic maybe drinks nectar?

    Thanks, Julie. I have not seen it since that day. So, I guess the plant has been debugged, at least of that one.

    I doubt it's a ladybug. Unfortunately I can't tell you what it is. You might check to see if there's any damage where it's been. If it just bugs you (har har), wash it off with a hose, and see if it returns.

      I found the good picture, and replaced the blurry one with the good one. So that is a photo of the bug I found that morning. I don't remember ever seeing a ladybug with a proboscis, or tubular sucking mouthpiece, such as the one this insect has.
