Glenda, BL. Yellow Bird is a great orchid, one that I recommend often. I have one in a palm tree that is large & in bloom all year. This orchid is 75% Brassavola nodosa & 25% Cattleya milleri. Nodosa is the easier to grow, is warm growing but can adapt to a wide range of conditions. Good drainage is a must, I grow mine either mounted on cork or in a clay pot w chunky Cattleya mix. When it is cool they need to be kept dry. Bright light + good air movement.

How do I get a yellow bird orchid to thrive outside?
