Cattleyas may not flower with too much light, under lights and with kitchen lights on full. A86-1031

Fall flowering cattleyas most respond to light; increase the day length by turning on lights for four hours from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. each night; several weeks later after lights are turned off the plants should begin to flower; start lights in mid-July to delay fall-flowering cattleyas into winter.
