A one-minute soak in it inactivated Cymbidium Mosaic Virus; a ten-minutes soak did not completely inactivate Odontoglossum ring-spot virus. P68(4)-5

TRISODIUM (ORTHO) PHOSPHATE: A Safe Disinfectant, Easily Obtainable For virus control; not as fast or as effective as some others, but is the least expensive and well recommended; refer to A66-980; A68-29+; also sold as Spik and Span.
