DESCRIPTION: Found in Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Peru as a miniature, hot growing, epiphyte that is found in windy, premontane forests in deep shade at elevations of 330 to 1400 meters, with small, obscure, rounded to suborbicular pseudobulbs partially enveloped by imbricating sheaths arranged in a fan-shape which turn to paper with time, carrying a single apical, fleshy, elliptic-oblong, acute, abaxially carinate, basally conduplicate leaves that blooms in the summer on a 1 3/5 [4 cm] long, basal through the leaf axils, successively single flowered inflorescence subtended by short triangular bracts.
