DESCRIPTION: Flowers in the spring and summer on an erect, short to 1.6 [4 cm] long, bracteate inflorescence arising with a new growth that has 2 to 5, fragrant, resupinate, cup-like flowers and is found in the subtropical foothills of the Himalayas, in Assam, the eastern Himalayas, Lower India, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Java, Lesser Sunda Islands, China and Taiwan in soils that are constantly dampened by mists and splash along steep watercourses at elevations of 660 to 2000 meters is a medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with closely approximate, narrowly conical pseudobulbs enveloped basally by a few violet streaked sheaths and carrying one or two, elliptic, acuminate leaves that narrows into an elongate petiole.
