ORIGIN: Found in Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul, Sao Paulo, Parana', Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul states of Brazil as well as Paraguay and Argentina in montane rainforests at elevations of 100 to [500] 1000 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small to just medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with fusiform, elongate pseudobulbs carrying 1 or 2, apical, obovate to elliptic, acute leaves that blooms in the later summer and early fall on an axillary, basal, paniculate, shortly few branched, erect to arching, to 16 [to 45 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence.
