DESCRIPTION: Found in Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Leewards, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago, Windwards, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras Costa Rica, Panama, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador as well as Brazil in wet montane cloud forests on giant bamboo or mossy braodleaf trees as a caespitose, miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte occurring at elevations of 360 to 2000 meters with erect to semi-pendant, compressed, cane-like stems enveloped completly by imbricating, leaf sheath bases carrying several, coriaceous, pilose margined, densely distichous, conduplicate, non-articulated, narrowly elliptic, acuminate with denticulate-ciliate margin leaves that blooms in the late spring through early fall on an axillary, short, to .24 [6 mm] long, filiform, single flowered inflorescence with 2, the outer sub-orbicular-funnelform, the inner narrowly lanceolate with a muricate ovary and capsule.
