ORIGIN: Found from Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Surinam, French Guiana, Trinidad and Tobago and Brazil in rain forests at elevations of sea level to 800 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with cylindric, furrowed stems enveloped by numerous, basally clasping and conduplicate, distichous, articulate, elliptic-lanceolate, coriaceous, apically unequally bilobed leaves that blooms in the summer and fall on a terminal, fasciculate, sessile, 1 to 1 1/4 [2.5 to 3 cm] long, successively flowering, racemose inflorescence.
