ORIGIN: Found in French Guiana at elevations of 1155 to 1600 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect, cane-like, terete stems producing a new stem from the subapical internode of the previous stem carrying 4 to 6, distichous, in the apical 1/2 of the stem, subcoriaceous, narrowly ovate, acute, margin entire leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, racemose, occurring on once, short, terete, nutant, 1.2 to 2 [3 to 5 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence arising on a mature stem, with much shorter than the ovary, narrowly-triangular, acuminate floral bracts and carrying 15 to 20, successively opening, 4 to 7 at a time, resupinate flowers with greenish brown tepals, a violet brown lip, that is greenish at the base and a greenish column.
