ORIGIN: Found in Colombia on the eastern slope of the Cordillera Occidental in Valle de Cauca in montane rain forests at leevations of 3600 to 3650 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cold growing epiphyte with branching, cane-like terete, thin stems carrying 5 to 7, all along the branches [main stem not seen] alternate, suberect, lanceolate, subacute, apiculate, subcoriaceous, apical margin crenate leaves that blooms in the earlier winter through early summer on a terminal, occurring only once, racemose, nutant, peduncle .28 [7 mm] long, terete, thin, naked, rachis .52 to .72 [1.3 to 1.8 cm] long, laterally compressed, zig-zag, simultaneously 8 flowered inflorescence with basally nearly as long as the ovarym triangular-lanceolate, acuminate, clasping floral bracts and carrying resupinate, yellow flowers.
