ORIGIN: Found in central Peru through westrern Bolivia in thickets and forests at elevations of 600 to 2400 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Large sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with simple, cane-like, laterally compressed, erect, straight stems carrying numerous, all along the stem, alternate, articulate, erect spreading elliptic, short acuminate, margin entire leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, occurring only once, without a spathe, peduncle 3.4” [8.5 cm] long, laterally compressed, flattened, erect, straight, nearly completely enveloped by 4 tubular, triangular-lanceolate, acuminate, partly imbricating bracts, rachis 1.28” to 2.12” [3.2 to 5.3 cm] long, 4 branched, somewhat spreading, each branch subtended by a basal, narrowly triangular, acuminate, amplexiccaul bract, simultaneously about 50 flowered inflorescence with much shorter than the ovary, linear-triangular, acuminate, amplexicaul floral bracts and carrying resupinate, sweetly fragrant, pale green flowers.
