ORIGIN: Found in western Venezuela at elevations of 1400 to 2500 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Giant sized, cool to cold grwoing epiphyte with simple, cane-like, terete, erect, straight stems carrying 19, all along the upper 3/4’s of the stem, . alternate, articulate, sub coriaceous, green above, dark purple beneath, elliptic to narrowly elliptic, acute, margin entire leaves that blooms in the spring and summer on a terminal, without a spathe, occurring only once, peduncle terete, thin, purplish green, generally with 4 tubular, acute bracts, basally imbricating, paniculate, 6 to 7, short branches, each laxly few flowered, simultaneously 65 to 80 flowered inflorescence with much shorter than the ovary,narrowly triangular, acuminate, amplexicaul floral bracts and carrying resupinate flowers with the sepals internally ochre-green, the external surface strongly tinged purple brown, petals green, the column basally green becoming whitish towards the apex, the lip is white and its apical lobes are tinged with green.
