ORIGIN: Found in Colombia on the Cordillera Occidental at elevations around 2440 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, cold growing caespitose terrestrial with erect,branching when mature, cane-like stems carrying all along the upper half of the stem, basally deciduous, narrowly elliptic-oblong, rounded, margin finely erose towards the apex leaves that blooms in the later summer on a terminal, without a spathe, suberect, short, compact, on a mature stem or the branches, occurring only once, peduncle with a sometimes foliaceous bract at the base, racemose, rachis sinuous, .6 to 1.2” [1.5 to 3 cm] long, successively 1, 3 to 4 flowered inflorescence with prominent, longer than the flower, progressively shorter above, triangular-ovate, somewhat carinate towards the apex,, obtuse, margin entire floral bracts and carrying non-resupinate, fleshy, ochre colored flowers with the base of the column green and the apex white.
