ORIGIN: Found in Colombia and Ecuador at elevations of 2800 to 3200 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small to medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with cane-like, straight, laterally compressed stems carrying 2 to 3, all along the apical half of the stem, erect, ovate-elliptic, unequally bilobed, with a dorsal keel, coriaceous, margin entire leaves that blooms in the mid fall through early summer on an erect, terminal, racemose, with 1 to 2, oblong, ancipitous, acute spathe, pedunccle terete, to somewhat laterally compressed, stright, cylindrical, simultaneously 14 to 50 flowered inflorescence with much shorter than the ovary, progressively smaller towards the apex, triangular, acuminate floral bracts and carrying non-resupinate flowers with the sepals and petals brownish red on the outer surface, sepals green olive, the petals greenish yellow and the column and lip are white with pink dots.
