ORIGIN: Found in Great Britain, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Czechloslavakia, Hungary, Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Ukraine, Western Russia, Central Russia, Eastern Russia, Siberia, , the Chinese Himalayas, eastern Himalayas, Nepal, Pakistan, western Himalayas, Bhutan, Myanmar, Japan, Korea and Taiwan in forests, crevices and mossy places at elevations of 1200 to 3600 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Miniature to small sized, cold to cool growing terrestrial with coralloid, branching rhizome giving rise to an erect, stout, basally swollen stem carrying 2 basal unequal, brown sheaths that blooms on an erect, to 8 long, several to many flowered inflorescence with non-resupinate flowers arising in late spring and summer.
