DESCRIPTION: A New Guinea, New Caledonia, Solomon Island and Vanuatu minature sized, hot to cool growing, epiphytic species found at elevations of 0 to 1200 meters with moss and ferns in dense lowland and montane, humid forests near watercourses, mangrove swamps, moss forests and plantations with erect, clustered, flattened and club-shaped towards the apex, basally narrow stems enveloped by leaf sheaths carrying 2 to 8, oval, thin, medium green, deciduous leaves after flowering that occurs in the spring and again in the fall on a terminal or lateral, short to 1 1/4 to 2 3/8 [3 to 6 cm] long, erect, few flowered, racemose inflorescence that arises from the nodes near the apex of leafed and leafless canes with non-resupinate flowers.
