ORIGIN: Found from Espirito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo Parana, and Santa Catarina States of Brazil at elevations of 700 to 1000 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Large sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial in acidic, organic detritus with ovoid-oblong, strongly sulcate with age pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, oblong-lanceolate, acuminate, plicate, 5 to 7 nerved, attenuate below into the elongate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late summer and fall on a basal, erect, robust, racemose, 16 to 26 [40 to 65 cm] long, loosely 7 to 10 flowered, racemose inflorescence with a few submembraneous, adpressed, yellow-green, lanceolate, acuminate, shorter than the ovaries floral bracts and carrying heavy textured, long-lasting fragrant flowers.
