ORIGIN: Found in Yunnan China, Sikkim, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Java and Sumatra in heath forests, hill forests and lower montane forests at elevations of 150 to 1160 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte or lithophyte, with 8 to 20 [20 to 50 cm] between each thicker in the middle, narrowing to both ends pseudobulbs carrying 4 to 6, near the apex, lanceolate, minutely and unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the late winter through later spring on a lateral, apical, few flowered, erect to arching, pubescent, 1.2 to 3.2 [3 to 8 cm] long, racemose inflorescence with broadly ovate-elliptic, pubescent, reflexed and overlapping towards the apex sheaths and broadly elliptic, pubescent floral bracts.
