ORIGIN: Found in Panama at elevations around 1300 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small to medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with simple, arising from at to just above the base of the previous stem, cane-like, terete basally, laterally compressed above, thin, erect stems enveloped basally by tubular, non-foliaceous sheaths and carrying 2 to 6, alternate, articulate, elliptic to elliptic-lanceolate, laterally compressed, acute leaves that blooms in the late spring on a terminal, occurring only once, racemose to single branched, laterally compressed, 3.6 to 7.2 [9 to 18 cm] long including the 2.4 to 5.2 [6 to 13 cm] long peduncle, successively 8 to 10 flowered inflorescence without a spathe but has small, narrowly triangular, conduplicate, acute, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying distichous, non-resupinate flowers.
