ORIGIN: Found in the western Himalayas, the Chinese Himalayas and Yunnan China, the eastern Himalayas, Assam, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam at elevations around 850 to 2100 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Mini-miniature to miniature sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with a very short, tufted stem carrying ensiform, slightly falcate, tapering to base, acute leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, axillary, verticiliate, stout, broad, compressed, becoming, fleshy, terete, tapering, adnate to the leaf apex, densely many flowered inflorescence with ovate-orbicular, irregularily deeply serrate floral bracts with flowers that are sunken into the rachis.
