DESCRIPTION: Found in the Rio de Janeiro, Parana', Santa Catarina, Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo States of Brazil in drier plains and savannahs or on exposed, decomposing rocky granite outcrops as a miniature to small sized, cool growing terrestrial orchid found at elevations of 1000 to 1200 meters with erect to semierect, smooth pseudobulbs partially enveloped basally by 1 to 2 short sheaths and carrying 2, apical, rigid, erect to spreading, acute, keeled dorsally, conduplicate below into a short, petiolate base leaves and blooms in the late spring and early summer n a 16 to 28 [40 to 70 cm] long, racemose, flexuous, erect to arching, 5 to 10 flowered inflorescence arising on a newly matured pseudobulb and having nodes spaced along the length enveloped by triangular, close-fitting, light green bracts.
