Pleurothallis spiritu-sanctensis is an orchid species identified by Pabst in 1975. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Barbosella spiritu-sanctensis.
ORIGIN: Found in Espirito Santo state of Brazil in humid forests at elevations around 1000 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a slender, elongated, occasionally branching rhizome giving rise to an ascending ramicaul enveloped by a thin tubular sheath and carrying a single, prostrate, thickly coriaceous, suborbicular to elliptical, apex entire, obtuse to rounded, rounded and contracted below into the nearly absent petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later summer on a slender, erect, .6 to .75 [1.5 to 1.8 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with a minute bract below the middle and an oblique floral bract that envelopes the pedicel.
