ORIGIN: Found in the southeastern Yunnan province of China, eastern Himalayas, Assam, Bangladesh, Thailand and Vietnam on rocks in thickets on limestone slopes at elevations of 1500 to 2330 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing lithophyte with a slender, woody rhizome with 1.2 to 2.4 [2 to 6 cm] between each obpyriform to ovoid, rugose, purple pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptic retuse, many veined, green above, purple blotched below, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall arising from the rhizome or the pseudobulb base on a shorter than the leaf, slender, 2 to 3.2 [5 to 8 cm] long, subumbellate to shortly racemose, erect, strongly basally recurved, 2 to 4 flowered inflorescence with tubular basal sheaths and the upper ones distant, lanceolate and acute and has linear, acute floral bracts.
