On a sand bed kept wet to within two inches below surface place plants without drainage crocks so that moisture is drawn into the pot by capillary action; test was successful with 100 paphiopedilums grown year round; masdevallias and phalaenopsis considered possible subjects for this treatment; odontoglossums suitable for summer treatment only.
