Vigorous growers1 root systems are quickly reestablished in spring, then growth of leaves is rapid and vulnerable to fungicide and pesticide; by mid-summer it is mature and pseudobulbs swell and the inflorescences appear for flowering peaks in September and October; in fall leaves yellow and drop.
