Their effect on the growth of seedlings was superior under controlled conditions to the growth under greenhouse conditions. A64-948

Their effectiveness = the Sylvania company has published information; orchids can be grown satisfactorily under them when proper daylength and temperature are provided; tests have failed to show the superiority of Gro-Lux over a combination of Cool White or Daylight, with supplementary incandescent.
