It is a 30-carbon alcohol found in wheat germ, beeswax, and the leaves of some plants such as alfalfa; reports of increases in growth in agricultural applications; some reports of failure possibly due to the wrong concentration used or the toxic effects of plasticizers used for plastics or detergents such as Tween-20; experiments with cymbidiums show TRIA at 0.1 mg with six hours fluorescent light at 75 dF is effective.
