ORIGIN: Found in Zaire, Tanzania, Angola, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe in miombo woodlands on stony or sandy soils and in wooded grasslands and coastal forests at elevations up to 1500 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small to medium sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial growing from ovoid underground pseudobulbous tubers giving rise to narrowly linear, acute leaves, just appearing at the time of flowering in late spring on a 6-11 flowered inflorescence.
