ORIGIN: Found in the eastern Himalayas at elevations around 2330 to 3330 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with a ellipsoid to subglobose tuber giving rise to an erect basally sheathed stem that is bracteate above the leaves with 2, overlapping, mouth wide basal sheaths and linear-lanceolate, acute sheaths and carrying 2, basal, arising from within the basal sheath, linear-oblong to oblong, acute, sessile leaves that blooms in the later summer on an erect, glabrous, 1.8 to 3.2 [4.5 to 8 cm] long, subdensely many flowered inflorescence with small, lanceolate, minutely glandular, acuminate floral bracts.
