ORIGIN: Found in Trinidad & Tobago, French Guiana, Surinam, Guyana, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru and Brazil in rainforests and savannahs on low bushes at elevations around 50 to 600 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, hot growing epiphyte with 1.2 to 3.6 [4 to 9 cm] between each, erect, cylindrical to cylindrical-ovoid, attenuate towards the apex, in maturity wrinkled to longitudinally sulcate pseudobulbs that in youth have a few distichous, imbricate, evanescent sheaths and carrying 2, apical, plicate, oblong to elliptic, acute, attenuate towards the base leaves that blooms in the summer on an axillary, from the basal sheaths, erect, 2.8 to 8.8 [7 to 22 cm] long, 6 to 18 flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb and is enveloped basally by a few short, tubular, acute bracts and triangular to triangular-lanceolate, rigid, concave, acute floral bracts.
