ORIGIN: Found in southern Colombia and Ecuador in cloud forests at elevations of 2900 to 3100 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cold growing epiphyte with stout, erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3, loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect to suberect, thickly coriaceous, narrowly linear-obovate, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the channeled, indistinct petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer and fall on an erect to suberect, single flowered, .4 to .8 [1 to 2 cm] long inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a loose floral bract and carrying a fleshy, malodorous flower.
