ORIGIN: Found in southeastern and southern Brazil.

DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with an erect stem enveloped by leafless and leaf bearing sheaths carrying broadly elliptic, acuminate, abruptly narrowing below into the elongate, channeled petiolate base leaves that blooms in the later spring on an erect, terminal, 7 [17.5 cm] long, several to many flowered inflorescence with as long as the flower, linear, acute floral bracts.
