Orchid Species: Pinalia acervata
(This name is currently accepted by Kew.)
Pinalia acervata is an orchid species identified by (Lindl.) Kuntze in 1891.
ORIGIN: Found in Yunnan China, Assam, eastern Himalayas, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam in semi-deciduous and deciduous dry lowland forests and savana-like woodlands at elevations of sea level to 600 meters and primary montane forests at elevations of 900 to 3350 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature to small sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with ellipsoid to flask-like, grooved, flattened when closely clustered pseudobulbs carrying 3 to 5, oblanceolate-flaccid, obtuse to acute, pale green, many nerved leaves that blooms in the fall on a slender 2 to 3 [5 to 7.5 cm] long, glabrous, several [15] flowered inflorescence.
