Orchid Species: Oncidium kegeljanii

Oncidium kegeljanii is an orchid species identified by (É.Morren) M.W.Chase & N.H.Williams in 2008.
ORIGIN: Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru in wet, upper montane forests at elevations of 2400 to 2500 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with a closely set, elliptic-ovoid, smooth, laterally compressed, ancipitous, longitudinally rugose with age pseudobulb subtended by 3 to 4 scarious leaf-bearing sheaths and has 2 apical, lanceolate, conduplicate towards the short, petiole-like base leaves that gives rise to an axillary, erect to slightly arching, 13 [32.5 cm] long, panicualate inflorescence arising on a newly maturing pseudobulb with several [5 to 12] fragrant flowers occurring in the spring.
