Orchid Species: Pleurothallis megalorhina

Pleurothallis megalorhina is an orchid species identified by Luer & R.Escobar in 1996.
ORIGIN: Found in Antioquia Colombia at elevations around 2350 to 2650 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature to medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped below the middle by a closely adpressed, tubular sheath and 2 to 3 others at the base and carrying a single, erect, coriaceous, narrowly ovate, acute, cordate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the spring on a a fascile of successively single flowered inflorescence arising through and concealed by a spathe .
FLOWER SIZE: 0.8 inches [2 cm]
